"Raising Stars of the Future"

The Johnson Childcare Center Story
Johnson Childcare Center Inc. began with the owner Elaine R. Johnson in 1989. Mrs. Elaine was at a stay at home mom after having her second child and was very interested in providing the best possible care for her children. Shortly after she created a school atmosphere for her youngest daughter, close friends and neighbors became interested in having her educate their children as well. In order to make her passion a business, she applied for her child care license through the Department of Public Welfare (DPW) and opened her family daycare in her home in 1989 called Elaine R. Johnson Daycare. With the increased demand for quality care, Mrs. Elaine purchased the house next door to her family center and opened a group daycare in 1993. For 9 years Elaine R. Johnson daycare provided high quality care program services for several aged children such as infants, toddlers, preschool, before and after school and summer camp children. Today Johnson Childcare Center is located in the northwest section of Philadelphia. Johnson Childcare Center is also a childcare center provider for the PHLPreK Program.
